This rack is extremely useful and versatile. Although not as light as i had imagined, it still is lighter than a heavy duty tom, cymbal, and snare stand. It also takes less floor space than those three stands. I like to have my snare nearly touching the bass drum in terms of placement, however it places the curve in the bent bar forward to the point where if i did play with a double bass pedal, im not sure if the clearance would be high enough. This is a great replacement for heavy duty stands, but will still outweigh lightweight stands if you only play with them (for example jazz players for small groups)
