Wire cables are extremely hazardous to the drum's bearing edge, digging little grooves into the wood (maybe into metal too, I don't know). What the other reviewer said about them being hard to use and wearing out the head is also true. Puresound used to (maybe still do?) include blue coated cables with some of their snares; don't use those either!

1. Very hard to work with/put on drum 2. Eats right through the snare side head 3. To stiff and messes up the whole snare wire/throw-off system 4. Ends flare out over time
