I wasn't sure what to expect as the small version of these traditional rawhide maracas didn't sound very good to me, but I eventually found one poorly recorded audio demo (very brief at that) and decided to take the risk. So glad that I did! These totally smoke my LP pair, which I've now sold. Much more authentic sounding, more dynamic, better pitch, proper construction, better weight balance and overall ergonomics.
