This book is good for the student who likes to get in depth with exercises. The opening exercises are quite simple (I'm not sure that they're the most useful, either). I like the more advanced exercises and the instruction about improvising. I like especially that the four-mallet exercises emphasize playing chords in a tonal context. It gives mallet players a foundation to interact in the same tonal language as other instrumentalists.

I'm so glad this book had been preserved and is available. It is a wonderful follow on to the elementary Green book. I can recommend it.
