The Gretsch USA Custom Black Copper Engraved Snare Drum is built with a thin, 1mm copper that is finished with stealthy black powder coating. Copper is known for its warm, punchy, dry tone with a wide dynamic range, and the black powder coat on both the interior and exterior adds a layer of control that keeps overtones in check without stripping the character out of the shell. If you like the warm sound of of a wood shell but need the bite of a metal shell, this might be the drum for you!

The laser-engraved Gretsch Round Badge cuts through the powder coat to reveal the copper beneath. Integrated 45-degree bearing edges and snare beds give you a tight, consistent head-to-shell response, and the die-cast hoops contribute additional overtone control while delivering an absolutely smacking rimshot. The Lightning throw-off is fast and quiet, engaging 42 strands of snare wire that give you a full, sensitive response across the entire dynamic range. A Snap-In drum key holder is included to help make sure you're never left searching for a key when you need one.
