Description

"Richard; ausatmen..." (ausatmen in English: exhale) is an unusual title for an unusual piece. Richard means Richard Wagner, and the conflicting attitude of the composer Markus Hauke to the person and work of the music dramatist is the theme of the piece. Exhaling is in two forms, as admiring fuuuuuh? or contemptuous pffff? processed in the piece transformed to rhythmic levels. Again and again the model of loud beginning and then slow thinning and ebbing in the course of the piece appears. Two passages from the Ring des Nibelungen that are striking for the timpani form the basic material of the composition as quotes, are alienated and thus placed in a different context. The additional instruments form a sonic extension. Detailed explanatory texts describe the technical implementation.
