Hands, Woods and Sticks by Werner Heider is a complex and interesting piece that requires some skill. An extensive range of wooden instruments is required: bars, temple blocks, wooden block drums, wooden tom toms, wooden slotted drums, claves, castanets, guiros, maracas, ratchets, vibraslaps, whips, bamboo tubes. In addition to the percussive sounds, the interpreter is also asked to speak individual words of the title.
