This work is an extremely interesting, graphic work for vibraphone. The score is quite substantial in size. The player goes through a series of "numbered" events in a circular fashion. The numbered events are bookmarked by slightly open "lettered" sections.

  • Werner Heider was born in Fuerth, in Germany, in 1930 and is not only a conductor but a pianist and an accomplished composer. In 1968 he founded with Klaus Hashagen the Ars Nova Ensemble Nuremberg, which has become one of the most important ensembles for new music in Europe. Up to 2005 the ensemble had performed some 120 works of contemporary music, including fifty or so recordings and a hundred premières, most of them having been commissioned. The Ars Nova Ensemble has performed not only in Germany but in Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, and Croatia.
