Description
Reflect by John Herndon is a percussion ensemble piece written specifically for programs with developing players and flexible personnel needs. Scored for anywhere from two to eleven or more players, the instrumentation adapts to what’s available—making it ideal for smaller programs, younger ensembles, or beginning percussion classes.
The mallet parts feature basic rhythms and stepwise motion using pitches from the B-flat major scale, while the chime and timpani parts utilize only four pitches. The piece can be performed with as few as two players on keyboard instruments. For added convenience, Herndon includes a variety of performance configuration suggestions.
Lyrical in nature, Reflect offers a valuable opportunity to practice soft dynamics and ensemble sensitivity. Students are encouraged to focus on touch, blend, and balance to establish a tranquil soundscape.
This piece ships as a fully bound score or as an instant PDF download for printing or tablet viewing. Individual parts come exclusively in PDF format.
