Donato-Hum (4GrS)-P

Hum by Dominic Donato is a unique percussion quartet scored for tam tam, solo tam tam, inverted hi-hats, and stopwatches. Each player will need a stopwatch or timer of some sort, preferably one that does not have a noticeable beep when starting. This was the first piece Donato wrote for the Talujon Percussion Quartet and was influenced by James Tenney and his ideas. This piece uses a double cymbal setup (essentially an inverted hi-hat) which the composer first noticed in a piece composed by Elenor Hovda.
