Diemer-Ice Rhythm-M or Electronics

Ice Rhythm by Emma Lou Diemer is a 4.5 (low F) marimba solo written for four mallets. This piece was written for Scott Deal, Professor of Percussion at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. Ice Rhythm was originally conceived as an electronic piece for MalletKat, but it can also be performed on marimba. The performer must be proficient with the following four-mallet strokes: double vertical, single independent, and single alternating. This exciting work alternates between frenzied sections and peaceful chorale settings.
