Stout's idea of using a pivot note to develop your Ideo Kinetics is an important part of developing a percussionist's technique. While the text is short in this book, the topics that Stout discuss about How to Practice and Sight Read may be two of the most important aspects of developing fantastic musicianship which can last a lifetime. While the quantity of the text is small, the quality of Stout's words of advice are much greater.

This is a good book to use if you want a good feel of where the keys on the marimba are. The focus of the book is to have one central key and slowly learn where the notes are in relation to it without having to look at the board. It will help with your peripheral vision. This is a book of exercises, not a book with lots of text like MoM so if you're looking for a good read steer away from this one.
