Long-Impetus (SP)-P/V/B/4T

Impetus by David J. Long for percussion quintet. This wonderfully effective piece uses traditional instruments you would find in most high school band rooms. The piece begins with a brief slow and free introduction, followed by a fast rhythmic section in 3 leading to an impressive conclusion.

Instrumentation:
Player 1 - vibraphone, bells
Player 2 - xylophone, timpani
Player 3 - snare drum, bass drum, tam tam
Player 4 - snare drum, 4 tom toms
Player 5 - suspended cymbal, tambourine, field drum
