Impromptus No. 1 & 2 by Rainer Romer is the latest work for solo marimba by this modern German composer. These 2 pieces are more technically difficulty than his previous pieces but still maintain a sense of drive and musicality.

Rainer Römer was born in Würzburg, Germany in 1956.
Before he took up his study at the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg, Rainer Römer was active in different jazz and rock bands. Together with the Würzburger percussions-Quartett, he was a Prize Winner at the Gaudeamus Concours in Rotterdam.
Since 1985 he has been a mamber og the famous Ensemble Modern Frankfurt. In 2004 he became Professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am main.
