The Bamboo Series features eight models, each designed for a specific purpose. The handles are constructed of bamboo that is turned to a smooth finish and consistent diameter.

The BT6 is a staccato timpani mallet consisting of a round wooden core with a German felt cover.

Having been at this long enough to not have to experiment, I know just what I need in the way of timpani mallets. These mallets are light, perfectly straight, the reasons we pay more for bamboo. These mallets are a copy of the old "JB" mallets of the same shaft and hardness, and they are wonderful articulate mallets. They arrived quickly, packed safely. I used them on a gig the next day.

The other two older reviews make no sense. I bought these regardless of the reviews and I love them. They have the perfect weight to them,and have clear and precise articulation. These are great for any quick staccato rhythms you have in passages, amazing mallets for the serious timpanist.

Sadly and unfortunately, the pair was uneven. It came with different bamboo rods, with one of them thinner than the other, and it wasn't rectified either, loking like a raw bamboo. Happened the same with the BT4 pair.

I absolutely HATED these mallets. DO NOT BUY! Go with a completely different series of mallets. I bought BT6s and BT2s. They sounded near exactly the same!!! Unacceptable. A waste of money.
