The JGpercussion Classic Timpani Mallets were designed in collaboration with master-craftsman Glenn F. Smith. These hickory shafts are hand-turned for perfect balance and great feel. Each pair is sewn by hand with the highest quality materials. The CL3 “Brahms” model is a great all-purpose mallet made of German felt over a wood core. The big, warm sound created with the CL3 works well for the Symphonies and the German Requiem.

Nice balance. Stitched portion of outer felt became loose and uneven in terms of contact with the head after one week's use. Not sure what the cause was. Maybe better suited for maximum of MF dynamics?
These are a great buy. The tone of these mallets is more pointed than that of the 7's, but also warm and full sounding. Good articulation with a big sound, and absolutely fantastic rebound and feel. A great purchase overall.
Another incredible JG mallet! I can't say enough about them. JG percussion is definitely my go-to timpani mallet. They have unmatched craftsmanship and the rebound is just incredible. I feel like I'm barely doing any work!! They feel and sound amazing. Buy these mallets!!
