These mallets are great when you need maximum sound. You get a dark sound and a smooth roll when using these mallets. They're also great for soft passages. This is a MUST need mallet.
Description
JGpercussion DH6 David Herbert timpani mallets are made with soft German felt over a large felt core. This is the ultimate large roller mallet, with a dark sound that is smooth and legato. Great for powerful passages in Shostakovich and Wagner.

Redesigned and reinvented, JGpercussion is proud to introduce the JGpercussion David Herbert Signature line of timpani mallets. Each pair features an innovative carbon fiber (graphite) shaft and every pair is handmade by JGpercussion. Each stick is 14.5 inches long (37cm) and has a slight taper from the handle to the head of the mallet.

I've enjoyed using the Herbert mallets a great deal. Very smooth sound and a pleasure to use. The carbon fiber handles provide a consistent weight and are perfectly straight every time. Nice and light. These rollers are just smooth as silk! My legato passages are greatly improved.
