DHCC1 is great! It is really fun to play with this pair of mallets. It is quite different than any other DH series mallets. Highly recommended for everyone.

Awesome mallets, they are light but weighted forward nicely and almost feel like they play themselves, they cut hard but have a much greater warmth than wood, plus no contact sound. Great for Beethoven or any sort of rhythmic passage
Very nicely made articulate mallet. Good for tutti rolls at a medium to loud tempo but not solos rolls or quite rolls. Much lighter in weight than other DH mallets. It is articulate enough and quite round compared to the sharp DH8s. Must have for all classical era timpani playing.
I'm a David Herbert mallets fan girl because I learned to play using them. The feel so light and move so effortlessly to the head. These cork mallets were perfect for an a la marcia staccato mp passage for an upcoming Jerome Kern Concert. It was my first time trying them. Will not be my last. For when you need a little softer sound than the leather covered wood bit still need the sharpness of a hard mallet.
