JGpercussion JP1 Joseph Pereira Signature Timpani Mallets are a ball-stick design that is hand-sewn with the highest quality soft German felt. This model is designed with German felt over a small wooden core.

All of the mallets in the Joseph Pereira Signature line are made from strong, hand-selected bamboo. Each pair is 15 inches long (38cm) with bamboo ranging between 11-13mm in diameter. Each mallet comes fitted with a European style handle grip.

JP1 is one of the best timpani mallets I've ever played! These mallets make both strong and soft sound just like the comment above "all-purpose stick." I highly recommend JP1 for everyone :)

This is a very comfortable stick to play, and it sounds great. I very much enjoy playing with it. Its easy to roll with, and you can get pretty good articulation. However, I'm giving it a 4 because of the price. It's a "general use mallet." Like I said, I really like it, but you can get something that sounds the same for much cheaper.
