I love these sticks! They have a lot of power, but also have the ability to be subtle. The tone is always clear at all dynamics. They are definitely well worth the pricey cost!!

JGpercussion JP4 Joseph Pereira Timpani Mallets are a ball-stick design that is hand-sewn with the highest quality soft German felt. This model is designed with German felt over a large cork core. An all-purpose heavier European style mallet.

All of the mallets in the Joseph Pereira Signature line are made from strong, hand-selected bamboo. Each pair is 15 inches long (38cm) with bamboo ranging between 11-13mm in diameter. Each mallet comes fitted with a European style handle grip.

These mallets are incredible. They become transparent and the drums really sing. The cork core is amazing. Quick off the head, yet I'm able to produce a beautifully warm and round sound...at *many* different dynamic levels. The JP4s are good in all registers, pp or fff. If I only had to have ONE mallet, these would be it. I had to adjust my technique since the shafts are thin (11mm!), but the counterweights perfectly balance the stick and provide support when held inside the palm (rather than sticking out the back of the hand). These mallets are spendy, but well worth the price! Highly recommended.
