Description
These two works were written separately as stand-alone chorales for solo 4-mallet marimba. Both chorales are intended to be rolled throughout. The performer should feel free to alter the roll style and speed to fit the musical direction of each phrase.
Each chorale begins with a borrowed melodic line from a Latin Marian chant. The Salve Virgo chorale borrows from the Gregorian chant, Salve Virgo singularis and the Redemptoris Mater chorale borrows from the Alma Redemptoris Mater, a Marian chant sung during the Advent and Christmas liturgical seasons.
- Number of players: 1
