J.P. by Murray Houllif is a percussion quartet written for James Petercsak, who is known to friends and students as, "J.P." The rhythmic language of this piece features constantly changing meters which create four equally challenging parts.

Instrumentation:
Percussion 1 (snare drum, bells, triangle, 4 high tom-toms)
Percussion 2 (2 bongos, vibraphone, xylophone)
Percussion 3 (4 medium tom-toms, marimba, 4 woodblocks, bass drum)
Percussion 4: (4 low tom-toms, suspended cymbal, gong, timpani)
