Matsumura-Kamakiri-M

Kamakiri by Makia Matsumura is a four mallet solo scored for 5 octave marimba. Kamakiri translates to "Praying Mantis" so named as a homage to a time in the composer's younger years when she would spend afternoons outside encountering different insects. As a child, she would seemingly spend hours transfixed watching them without becoming bored.
