Larson-Karlimba, A Reflection (new version) (SP)- 4M/PN red. (Wind Ens.)

Karlimba (new version) by Keith Larson is a showy, yet accessible, work for marimba quartet and wind ensemble (piano reduction). Musicality and expressivity are a necessity in doing this piece justice. The majority of this piece features two mallet playing however there are short passages written for four mallets.

This piece was originally composed for 4 marimbas and wind ensemble, thus it is scored very thick for balance with winds. Karlimba features a variety of moods from driving rhythms to lyric expression and is ideal for the undergrad or advanced high school percussion ensemble.
