Description
Eckhard Kopetzki's Kaskada is dedicated to internationally known marimbist Katarzyna Mycka. A recording of it can be found on her CD Marimba Dance.
The title Kaskada is a programmatic description of the piece. At the beginning the water collects, forms drips, and becomes a rivulet.<> (Thales of Milet). The rivulet swills; the water beings to flow steady; then becomes faster and more uneven. <> (Heraklit). The current nears the waterfall - Cascade. Afterwards the water flows peacefully onwards and seeps away in the same way it originally occured.
