Description
Kvarts and Zeitbilder by Jesper Hendze both for percussion quartet.
The formal basis of Zeitbilder (shared with two other works, Courtley Manners for flute, guitar and cello and Shine for "almost" big band) is a single rhythmical/tonal motif in various speeds and transpositions, which in combination constitutes small as well as larger forms.
Zeitbilder is dedicated to Lou Harrison whose approach to percussion ensemble has been a major inspiration to Hendze.
