A Fit Reliquary by Marvin Lamb is a dramatic work for brass quintet and percussion ensemble that is sure to become a standard in the mixed chamber ensemble literature. Lamb masterfully manipulates the plethora of colors found in both the brass and percussion choirs to create a unique tapestry of sound. Although the work hints at serialism the thematic material is never lost to the listener as it shifts from brass to percussion and then back again. This is a challenging piece that would work well in a variety of performance venues.
