Description
Written for the developing marimba player, Caravan by Larry Lawless features a camel-like ostinato throughout the piece that serves as the performer's "home-base" between various technical demands. The thematic ostinato focuses primarily on developing single independent motions and small interval double vertical control.
Throughout the piece, Lawless incorporates a variety of musical interjections with scalar single independent and sweeping double lateral licks giving the performer a chance to further refine their skills.
Caravan is intended as a companion piece to Escape by Larry Lawless.
