Sumi-Length of Variable Echo-M

Length of Variable Echo by Otoemon-ayahiro Sumi is a four mallet solo scored for 4.6 octave (low E) marimba. Originally scored for marimba and soundscape, this challenging solo has been revised to be played by solo marimba (four-mallets and bow). This piece was inspired by a lunar eclipse and moves through a number of different textures. Though overall it is very rhythmic, this solo also offers the advanced performer ample opportunities to display their musical finesse and ability at subtle expression. Duration: 8'40"
