This book unleashes a world of possibilities. The orchestrations expose you to sounds and melodies that you likely would not come up with on your own. Not only does it expand your sonic pallette in terms of orchestration, but it also expands the phrases you hear. The phrases will improve your syncopation and placement of notes and will give you greater control of your playing in an improvised environment. The main takeaway from this book is the concept of manipulation of a simple idea. The book highlights drummers' weaknesses and cool melodies that are waiting to be discovered and explored on the drum set! Would recommend for anyone who is looking to improve their improvisational skills or become a better soloist in any genre!
