Three Styles Suite is excellent reading material for snare drum. As the name states, this solo is 3 distinct movements starting with a classical movement containing many dynamics and meter changes, then a contemporary movement with more meter changes and the use of your fingertips, 1 wire brush, and 1 hard marimba or timpani mallet, and finally ends with a rudimental movement with latin influence and feel. This is a solo that I would definitely recommend to any player looking to see more than just another orchestral or rudimental solo and improve their reading.
