Description
The Liberty One 12"x23" Djun Djun is a rope-tuned West African drum with natural skin heads that is typically played with sticks. Of the three drums that traditionally make up a djun djun drum set, the medium Sangban is the middle voice, which often features the most complex patterns. Sangban players typically play a bell pattern on an iron bell with one hand, and a combination of muted and open strokes on the djun djun with the other hand. These distinct, interlocking drum and bell patterns are the core rhythmic identity of the West African drum ensemble.
