Thomas, A.-Loving Mad Tom (Marimba part ONLY)-M/PN

Loving Mad Tom by Andrew Thomas is a four mallet concerto scored for 4.5 octave (low F) marimba. This piece is inspired by a 17th century anonymous poem of the same title. This piece is dedicated to William Moersch who commissioned the concerto. The narrator's raffish and alarming personality, his desperate hunger, zest for life, bitterly comic language, and barely suppressed violence grab the reader's attention like a scene from today's streets.
