The Ludwig Pocket Kit, developed in collaboration with Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, is a scaled-down acoustic drum set built for beginning drummers between the ages of 4 and 10. Designed with smaller shell dimensions and lower stand heights, this kit allows young students to comfortably reach all drums and pedals while learning standard playing form and coordination.

Scaled Dimensions for Young Players

Standard drum sets can be physically difficult for kids to play due to the height and distance between the drums, pedals, and throne. The Pocket Kit resolves this issue by reducing the diameter and depth of each shell. The 16-inch bass drum keeps the rack tom and cymbals low to the ground, allowing younger players to maintain proper arm position and leg posture without straining to hit the instruments.
