Description
Rudra was composed by Payton MacDonald while he was studying Dhrupad in Bhopal, India. The title comes from the Vedic God Rudra, the god of the roaring storm, a fierce entity of destruction. A principal motive is given in the first few measures, then is varied through use of a variety of compositional devices such as augmentation, diminution, Fibonacci series, canonic relations and other techniques.
