A great pairing with other concert models from Malletech. The difference is subtle, but in orchestral literature and chamber settings, that can make all the difference, especially if quickly switching or combining mallet series. These have a nice balance. I'm not sure how well they hold up over time, as they seem slightly softer, but mallets are cheap and I plan to buy a second pair for four-mallet work anyway.

I am using these on Michael Burritt's Marimba Solo "Scirocco." Which if you haven't heard it, watch Brad Meyer perform the piece on YouTube. It utilizes the entire range of a 5 Octave Marimba and you play ppp to fff at both ends of the board. These are the perfect mallets for this piece, in my opinion. They cut wen you need them to, but at the same time you could use these for a chorale. They are very light and take some getting use to but it is definitely worth it.

I ordered 4 of these for the chamber orchestra I play in, and they produce a real nice sound. The only thing is they're blue on here, and when I got them, they were purple (Which I have nothing against, being that they looked awesome)
