The Malletech OR48B mallets produce a clear bell sound and are very easy to handle due to the absolutely straight shaft birch handles! I like the feeling of confidence these mallets provide knowing that they will produce more and more volume whenever needed! The build quality is top notch and they perform extremely well on my Musser bells.
I used these mallets on the xylophone part in Kingfishers Catch Fire, and it was beautiful. The description could not have been more accurate. When I read it, I thought that they would fit well in that song and they sure did.
I love these mallets. These with Liberty 1 brass mallets make a great choice for Dukas Sorcerer's Apprentice. These are definitely the loudest mallets I've played with (requiring ear plugs and muffs for practice) and can easily cut through an ensemble with pure tone from the bells.
