Okay, so these mallets are very beautiful. The colors pop and I get many compliments from my friends. The mallets are very light and you can go pretty fast with these mallets. BUT compared to Robert Van Sice mallets owned by my peer, these mallets are slightly harsh, the way the mallets are wrapped just does that. If you're looking for a mallet with a nice and dark tone, these are not for you! After a few days of using the mallets I concluded that they aren't bad. They are just expensive and there are other mallets out that sound better and truly makes a marimba sound beautiful.
