Description
Mean Man's March by Alex Orfaly is a xylophone showcase inspired by events at Orfaly's local dog park in Belmont, MA. It's a sunny and crisp Fall New England day, dogs play at the park, the mean man marches onto the field, chaos ensues, after much ado, the man finally retreats slamming his car door behind.
Even though written mostly in a minor key, an element of silliness should be present. Any accented passing half steps or other oddities should always be brought out. The middle 5/8 section should only be slightly slower. Any doubling of the solo part should be carefully coordinated or omitted as needed. Duration: 4'20"
