The MEINL PA10ABS-BK-NH Pandeiro has all the tones that true players of samba have come to expect from their instruments. Solid jingles produce a dry and cutting sound. MEINL Pandeiros are available with different jingle and head variations. The Napa head included on the PA10ABS-BK-NH allows for some traditional playing techniques that would be impossible on other pandeiros.

Really heavy and tiring to hold. Great construction. Why do the jingles have a piece of sheet metal as an additional jingle between them? This really cuts down on the volume and makes the chica-chica difficult to sound. Great if you're playing ppp.
This is a fine instrument! I've got several other pandeiros, including one handmade in Rio, and the deep clean tone of this one beats them all. The napa head makes the difference -- it's a real innovation. Yes the instrument is on the heavy side; I wouldn't mind seeing this head on a lighter, wood-frame pandeiro (Meinl?), but this one is worth the work you put in to play it.
