Meinl Gong Resonant Mallets are designed to bring forward the atmospheric and therapeutic tones in gongs. The pitches and tones are similar to the songs of whales. The Set-5 includes 5 different sized mallets. The smaller the mallet head is, a higher pitch is produced.

I'm enjoying the variety of tones each mallet brings out of the gongs. The larger mallets produce sound easily, and create lower tones and rumbling sounds. The smaller mallets take more effort and experimentation to produce sound, but can create nice tones as well. With the smallest mallet, I've only figured out how to produce a high pitched squeak so far by pressing hard with a quick motion on the textured portions of the gongs.
