The Meinl Suspended Cymbal Stand is way too tall for a majority of players. I have a student who is 6'5" and even at the lowest height, the cymbal is still not in a comfortable playing position for suspended cymbal playing. I ended up removing the folding tripod on the bottom (easy to do by removing a screw) and cutting about 4 inches off the stand to make it usable. Otherwise, the stand is well built which is why I gave it 3 stars.

I just purchased this and haven't had a chance to use it yet in performance, but will give my opinions just trying it at home. I like that it is stable and heavy duty, however if you are looking for something lightweight and portable, this is not it. I really like the black finish as it looks professional and blends in better on stage. I could do without the cymbal stacker screw on top as I probably won't use it and I feel it would look better without, but who knows - maybe someday it will come in handy! The only problem I have with it is the height. Even on the lowest setting it is super tall, with the cymbal hanging almost at my shoulders. This problem was easily fixed for me because I also bought the Meinl hand cymbal stand so I just switched the bases and both are at reasonable heights.
