Ken Meyer refined a book supported by a metronome concept of removing a click track at greater and greater intervals to help drummers develop a better sense of time. Much of the notation supplied within this publication may appear simple, but should not be taken for granted. Ken's metronome removal concept is a common ingredient in many drumless tracks, where a space is removed for the drummer to solo, allowing the musician to manage time while the music rests. The CD in this book is beneficial in how it may be used with any book or solo exercise, something Ken explains in the book. Another great option with this idea in mind is Turn It Up & Lay It Down - Volume 4 - The Road to Fast Bebop. I have given this title 4-stars, as this is just one of many tools & concepts for developing great time keeping skills - not a more-so comprehensive angle.
