Description

In the Black Hills by Michael Aukofer is a depiction of the Native Americans' sacred lands throughout South Dakota. The composer was inspired by a recent trip to the Black HIlls, observing the two man-made rock formationas there, Mount Rushmore and the yet to be completed Crazy Horse.

This is an outstanding work for the intermediate marimbist which covers several styles and technical aspects of marimba playing.

Number of Players: 1

What an amazing piece!!!!! The composer has truely captured the plight on the Native American culture in a solo that is both challenging and incredibly musical!!!
