These mallets are great for practicing without ruining your ears. The only reason I held back on a 5 star review was that I prefer mallets with more weight. But nevertheless, wonderful, well made mallets.
I ordered these mallets for a recording project I was on that needed a softer attack. They are very well balanced and the extra long handle was absolutely perfect. The weight of the mallets makes you feel more confident. Not too heavy, but enough weight that you can play good. They weren't as soft as I was expecting, but are still a nice set. I will definitely buy these again. The fundamental tone comes out more clearly and there is still some attack on the high end. These are great for medium to mild playing.
These are some of the best mallets I have ever owned. they are great for soft to medium playing on vibes and good for articulate but not harsh marimba playing.
These are a great pair of mallets- they perform well on BOTH marimba and graduated vibes. They have articulation, but not too much attack. Used on a song like "rain dance".
