Mortelune by Sami Younes is a four mallet solo scored for 4.3 octave marimba. Mortelune, or the tale of a lost city under the sea. Whoever holds the key to the drinking water reserves in the underwater city of Mortelune possesses infinite powers. The ostinato of the left hand recreates the vital character of the key to the drinking water. It leads the performer to surmount and conquer the difficulties and to seize for himself the much coveted key.
