I threaded the Musser Bar Cord, making a point with masking tape. I tied a knot at the end without a problem. She adapts to the instrument as if she were born with it. I managed to clean up the sound of the instrument, marimba Leedy & Ludwig # 5649. I made some wooden supports for the legs, in order to raise it, to which I put felt underneath. I was very happy, really

First time in over 35 years that I've had to replace the cord. So happy Steve Weiss had the product in stock. Don't know what I would have done. See you in 35 more years :-)

Alright...

First, I was a little surprised when my Musser bar cord arrived packaged in a ziplock bag. This implies that the cord is just cut off from a larger warehouse spool, which would account its fraying ends. I was disappointed at the quality of the cord. To me, it just seemed like a more expensive version of parachute cord. Because of this, I returned my Musser bar cord and bought Adams bar cord (a much better deal, coming with two cords with closed ends and four springs). The only redeeming quality about the Musser cord is its small diameter, only 1/8 of an inch, so it will fit almost every instrument. The Adams bar cord is about 15/64 of an inch (almost 1/4), so check your bar's hole diameter before buying it.
