Description
My Cats by Elis Pehkonen for percussion ensemble and chorus. This piece is designed for use with about 20-30 players of the 11-13 year old age group, although more advanced instrumentalists could be used with a younger chorus.
Instrumentation:
Group 1 - Chorus (spoken), minimum number of 9
Group 2 - 2 glockenspiels, 4 drums
Group 3 - xylophone, piano
Group 4 - small gong, suspended cymbal, triangle
Group 5 - tambourine, maraca
*The above is the ideal instrumentation, but if not available the material in each group could be played by one instrument in that group (e.g. in group 3, a piano only could be used, playing the xylophone part on the interior strings) provided that differentiation is made.
