Description
"HETERORHYTHMIX" for six percussionists was commissioned by Shinishi Ueno, and was first performed by Shinichi Ueno and his group "percussion groupe PHONIX relexion", at Nerima Cultural Centre, Tokyo, on 10 December 1993. The original title of this work was "Planets Dance", but was changed to the present title.

Tokuhide Niimi was born in 1947 in Nagoya Japan. He graduated from the Faculty of Technology at Tokyo National University. In 1975, He graduated from the Composition Class of the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. He was a jury Member of the International Competition of Ballet Music in Geneva together with G. Petrassi.
