We played a early version of this V movement work for 4 guiros in 2008. I loved it! It has a solo line which will just get stuck in your head.
Description
This unique piece by Eugene Novotney entitled "Scratch" features four players playing scrapers or guiros. The piece is constructed with three accompaniment lines, with player 1 as a "soloist" playing a "melodic" line over the other parts. This is a very unique and interesting piece and is sure to be an audience favorite!
